A Message from Chief Budrow 6/3/2020:
Dear Twisp and Methow Valley Residents,
The Twisp Police Department is committed to providing law enforcement services to the community with due regard for the racial, cultural or other differences of those served. It is the policy of this office to provide law enforcement services and to enforce the law equally, fairly, objectively, with compassion, and without discrimination toward any individual or group.
Like many of you, we have viewed the footage of the actions of officers in Minneapolis that raise many questions. We fully expect an independent, transparent and credible investigation into the actions of the involved officers that culminated in the death of George Floyd. We also fully expect that any and all findings of criminal acts committed by officers will be prosecuted appropriately.
The Twisp Police Department holds ourselves accountable to a high standard of professionalism and integrity as these are our core values. Officers attend regular ongoing training that includes non-biased policing training, critical incident and de-escalation training, and daily policy training that include topics on fair and objective policing. Officers put this training into practice every day.
It is a privilege to serve the Town of Twisp and the Methow Valley. Our commitment is to interact with every person in a way that earns trust and sets an example for our communities and profession.
Paul D. Budrow
Town of Twisp
